West Head

A glorious afternoon out with Srini and Kate at West Head. I did this shortish hike in 2011, great to do it again.  The highlight was a swim in the sea; the perfect temperature.

Berowra to Mt Kuring-gai via Cowan Creek and Apple Tree Bay

A lovely 12 km walk with Meet Up in shafts of warm sunshine after days of rain.

I learned two vital lessons on the hike ...

Lesson 1: Don't wear open shoes unless you want to get bitten by a whopping big bull ant.

Lesson 2: Don't put the dead body of the ant into your pocket to potentially show to the doctor because dead ants can miraculously come alive and bite you again where no man wants to get bitten!!

Sphinx Walking Track, Cowan Creek, Bobbin Head, Apple Tree Bay and Mt Kuring-gai

On Sunday, I did another great 16 km hike with Meet Up.  It was wonderful to meet lovely Liz who would later become a leading member of our hiking gang.
