Hiking in The Budawang

The highlight was going for a swim in a beautiful, large creek.  We all sat on a submerged rock in the middle of the creek when Michelle suddenly said "Oooh snake!!"  A red-bellied black snake was swimming directly towards us.  Always the calmest one, Michelle said "Keep still everyone."  And indeed, it swam past us but with less than half a metre to spare.  It was beautiful. Only once it swam by did we realise that Michelle was sitting behind us and would have been the last to get bitten!  Ha ha.  But seriously, sitting still was the right thing to do and it was a wonderful sight. Such grace in the water.
