Movie scenes I love: "I had you" scene from Sentimental Value (2025)

I saw this movie with Elna in Newtown. One of the best movies I have seen this year and the most moving.  It had the most beautiful interaction between two siblings I have ever seen. The movie stars the incredible Renate Reinsve and is directed by Joachim Trier, the director of another of my favourite movies; "The Worst Person in the World" which also starred Renate.

Clontarf Beach with Elna

I spent a lovely morning with Elna and a friend at Clontarf Beach.

Paradise Pool (Linden, Blue Mountains) with Elna

Another wonderful adventure with Elna inspired by her book of best secret swimming spots in Sydney.  A short walk to the pool but quite steep so we had a hot walk out. The pool itself was lovely and there was a fun 5 metre leap into the pool.  A lovely day out, always so great to spend time with dear Elna.

Walk to Resolute Beach (West Head) with Elna

Elna bought a book of the best and most remote swimming spots in Sydney. She is planning to explore them all if she can.  She asked me to join me on an adventure to the first one on the list: Resolute Beach.  The walk in was lovely, taking about 30 minutes, through pristine bush. The beach itself was gorgeous too, with beautiful blue sea and some nice sculptured rocks. We had a lovely swim. Hopefully I will join her on lots more of her outings as she ticks down the list.

Knowing you are an early riser I am sending birthday greetings as you get up and as I go to bed. I hope you have a special day and will be celebrating in some way with friends.
