Geena for the weekend

We are looking after Geena this weekend and it's always a treat. She's so gorgeous. Took her for a long run and ball chase this afternoon.

Birthday dinner

Went to a nearby "all you can eat" Thai restaurant for dinner with Amanada and Johnathon. Fun time with them as always. Ate so much, this is all the icecream I could eat by the end of it.

It's Mr Wynne

James came through Cambridge on his trip to the UK. We all met up at Johnathon and Amandas for a South African braai. A good time was had by all with plenty of hearty chuckles and reminiscences from the "good old days".

Cute Luke

We had a lovely easter lunch with Johnathon and Amanda and their family. Johnathon's sister's little one, Luke, stole the show and won us all over with his big eyes. Went for a bracing walk (the weather is still blustery) and made a joint effort at the crossword. Could definitely have done with Gramp's inspiration cause we struggled and it finally beat us. Came home and watched Collateral which was enjoyable. Tomorrow I have to do some work unfortunately and we've got some tennis planned.

Day trip to Suffolk

We drove to Suffolk today and had a bracing walk along the beach with Amanda and Johnathon. Filled up on lots of fresh air and plenty of good laughs. Suffolk is a relatively sleepy town at this time of year (not quite high season yet) but is very quaint and attractive in it's own way. We enjoyed visiting some nice art galleries and sampling the local brew - a bitter but tasty ale that is famous, though I can't for the life of me remember it's name.

I didn't get wet, believe it or not, but Amanda got a good shot of me dwarfed by a wall of water that narrowly missed me.

A warm, sunny day by the sea side. Well, maybe not!

Sunday by the fire

On Sunday, we went to Amanda and Johnathon for lunch. They've just arrived back from 3 weeks in Australia so were tanned and full of hearty stories. They had a wonderful time and it was good to see their photos. We watched a movie "The Motorcycle Dairies" all about the "backpacking trip" through South America that started Che Guevera on his revolutionary journey. Great scenery that wetted out appetite. It was a freezing day on Sunday so we had a fire in the lounge to warm us up. Gina (A & J's collie dog) was as gorgeous as ever and very happy to have them back to herself (see top photo).

A walk with the dogs

Went for a walk with Amanda and a friend along the river with their two dogs, Geena (the collie) and Eliza (the pug). I stopped off for a dip in the Cam which was deceptively cold!!

It's Mr Wynne!!

Mr James Wynne is passing through town on his way back to sunny SA. We met up with him for dinner at Amanda and Jonathon and had a wonderful evening - apart from my atrocious cold that's making my nose and eyes stream. In fact, to be honest, i'm not too nice to be around! I'm glad to report that good old James has lost nothing of his naughty sparkle and we all shared many great laughs. A very special evening indeed. It was the first time i got to see Amanda and Jonathon's new garden. What a great job they have done. Shame, we were all rather boistrous out on the patio - Amanda and Johnathon have some making up to do with their elderly neighbours... .

Re-united

Marrianne arrived today from South Africa - it's great to see her again. Johnathon and Amanda and Geena (the dog) came round for dinner so it was like a mini reunion. Lots of fun and laughter and memories of the good old days in SA.
