Mutual Adoration...

Fishing

I went fishing today with Doug and a friend of his in the rain. And, believe it or not, I caught a fish. Especially as I was the only one to catch one. This is highly unusual for me - fish usually give me a wide birth. Now it wasn't a very big chap to put it mildly and I put it right back in the water after saying hello - but very exciting nevertheless...

Our new barbecue

It's official - we are fair dinkum Aussies now that we own our very own barbecue! Paradoxically it's an American brand (Weber) but it's a gorgeous and sexy beast and we are very proud of it...

Andreas, Ingrid and Sebastian were our first friends to try out the new barbie...

Here we are enjoying the fruits - on our new dining room chairs...

Royal National Park Coastal Hike

I just got back from a great two day hike with Bruce and Jimmy. The coastal scenery was great with lots of majestic cliffs and sandy beaches. The weather was overcast most of the time and a bit rainy, but that was perfect for walking. The hike was 25 km's in total and my legs are feeling very stiff tonight. I took my small Canon Camera (a lot lighter than the SLR) and the weather was not condusive for great photos, but I include the ones below as a good memory of the hike. We also saw some interesting wildlife like a snake, water lizard (beautiful) and a cute little echidna that was very shy. Not to mention the flies, oh my god there were so many (see below)...
