A lovely breakfast with Russell, Carmen and Daniel.

Walk in the Greenbelt in search of Gymnogene

Heather and Russell saw Gymnogene the day before so I went to have a look with Heather. No sign of them, but the light was lovely so I took some photos. Russell and Carmen joined me later. As we neared the car, a gymnogene flew high above us, too far for a photo but exciting nevertheless.

Testing out our Afrikaburn Thai red curry on the family

Jo, Matt and Antony agreed to be willing guinea pigs for our Thai red curry we are planning to cook at Afrikaburn for our group.  We had fun cooking and then played a fun game with the family that involved throwing a stick at sticks. I absolutely sucked at it at first but then staged a comeback for the ages to reign triumphant at the end! Finally, we tucked into the curry and everyone agreed it was a great success. And surprisingly easy, a great dish to add to my repertoire.

The cooks hard at work!

Then a fun game with the family

Triumphant!

A great success!

Betty's Bay

An early morning get up so Russell could do the 5 km Park Run in the Harold Botanical Gardens. I walked up onto the slopes and did some bird photography. Then Carmen and her wonderful Aunt joined us for breakfast and a walk to Disa Kloof. In the afternoon, we went to see the penguins and had a glorious swim in the Palmiet River.  All in all, an absolutely super day.
