Balmoral Burn

I went to the "Balmoral Burn" today with Charles and the Mosman Camera Club to take some photos. Basically the Balmoral Burn is a 420 meter road race straight up a hill starting from Balmoral Beach. The races are split up into fun categories like kiddies and parents, dogs and their owners etc. - and some serious categories too. It was a lot of fun but there was quite a bit of pain etched onto faces too - it's a steep climb. I was happy to take some snaps from the sidelines and not compete on this occasion.
..

Dogs and Owners Race - Mack would have loved it!

Kids and Parents Race

This little guy wanted to make it all on his own!

This muscle bound chap opened up a huge lead at the start of the "professional" male race and pummelled himself up the hill only to collapse and end last.

Runners

The harley warriors helped keep spectators off the track

Paraplegics Race - amazing to watch these guys power up the hill with arm muscles thicker than my thigh

Skateboarding - down the hill this time, not up...

An assortment of cute pooches. Mack would have been in good company...

Sunrise and Sunset at Kiama

Marty the Martian and his two friends working part time as a beer tap

Sam scored her first hockey goal!

Here she is being chased by some hardy Oakhurst players - none of whom stand a chance against our golden girl...

Early morning ramble around the city

A lovely early morning with Charles ambling about the city, taking photos of the morning sun reflecting off the buildings.

City Reflections

Sydney Barracks

The Sydney Barracks, built in 1819, are a historic site in the heart of Sydney that originally housed British soldiers and later served as administrative offices. Today, they stand as part of the Hyde Park Barracks Museum, offering visitors a glimpse into Australia's colonial past and convict history.

Kiama

Ally and I camped at Kiama for a night to get out of Sydney. We went to a dog friendly camp site and Mack was a very happy camper. The wind blew like crazy throughout the night (well it is winter after all) and kept us awake for hours as it tried to rip our fly sheet off, but otherwise we had a great time...
