Navy

This Friday the 13th of March The Royal Australian Navy steamed 15 chunky warships right into Sydney Harbour in the biggest display of floating military hardware Sydney has seen since the bicentennial way back in 88. We got up early to watch it from Middle Head in Mosman. Thanks to Charles for picking up on this photo opportunity.

Jo's cake

Jo, my sister, is doing a cake decorating course. Here is the first cake she made. She covered it in ganache icing and then put a chocolate collar on it. Also a flake and chukkles. The family, not suprisingly, was very impressed. Makes me hungry just looking at it.

My Favourite Movie Moments

I absolutely love movies and lately I've been rewatching a lot of the classics that I love most. Here for my own enjoyment are some of my favourite movie moments. No matter how much I watch these scenes, I will never tire of them.

Oh dear, I'm terrible for laughing at this one!

Usually Mack absolutely loves water, but he wasn't quite ready for this wave...

Jamberoo Water Park

We visited Jamberoo Water Park just outside Kiama (couple of hours of Sydney). It was a blast with some fantastic water rides. The highlight was the the Taipan, 100 metres of steep swirling rapids through pitch black tunnels. So that's how it feels to be swallowed by a snake. Ally and I took it in shifts as Mack was not allowed in. In the break, I read Ken Follett's epic read, "The Pillars of the Earth." One of the best books I have ever read...

Kiama

We went camping at Kiama this weekend. Nice coast line and beaches and the water was gorgeously warm to swim in.

Patriotic hamburgers

We had hamburgers at Eva and Brendan's to celebrate Australia Day. But not just any burgers. Home made Australian gourmet burgers with beetroot. No Aussie burger is complete without beetroot! Delicious they were...

Romantic parrots

These lovely tame parrots are residents at Eva and Brendan's. As you can see, they eat out of Eva's hand...
