On the road in Tasmania
Paper museum
Breakfast
One of the nicest meals we had: an omelette to beat all omelettes. |
Beautiful Tassie
A spontaneous dunk in the ocean
Brrrrr, it was freezing !!! Roger dived in too, brave soul. Russell was about to when the frigid wind came up, and he promptly changed his mind ! |
Lovely fudge
So many novel flavours to try. The coffee was good too. |

Jo's 40th birthday
A fun evening out celebrating the 40th birthday of Jo, Yogi's daughter, at a Mexican restaurant. I had an inspiring conversation with Jeremy, an actuary, about our shared passion for creating "works of art" through our work and hobbies.

Lunch at Katima (Hout Bay)
Dim Sung, pork belly and ribs, succulent sushi, sea food stir fry, white chocolate mousse, crepes and berry sorbet - and much, much more. Yum!! Thanks mum for an amazing lunch.

Muizenberg to Kalk Bay
Jo and I went for a refreshing, sea breezey evening walk from Muizenberg to Kalk Bay. In Kalk Bay, we had a scrumptious dinner of grilled calamari and braaied Kingklip. Then an uber back to Muizenberg. A lovely evening.

Swellendam
Highlights
- The old guest lodge, built in 1796.
- A swim in the pool, refreshing in the oppressive heat. We chatted with some other guests, who are lecturers at UCT.
- Going out for a delicious dinner (Kudu, Ostrich, Steak) with Jo. Matt stayed at the lodge as he wanted time to himself. We had rather a lot of trouble finding him dinner afterwards.
- "Competing" on the WhatsApp family group with Antony and Sam who were in Matjiesfontein. Their pool was greener but shallower. Their dinner larger but less culinary.
- A walk to the waterfall at the local nature reserve with a beautiful mountain backdrop. The waterfall was rather disappointing with the drought, but some good exercise.
- A berry smoothy and mudcake at the nearby berry farm.
