Day 5 of Everest Hike: Tengboche (3850m) to Dingboche (4350m)

Another misty hike with the peaks obscured, though luckily we got to see them on the way back. A relatively easy day hiking down to the river and then up a valley with the beautiful river winding its way through it.  Trains of hardy dzos passed us on their way down. We passed some beautiful stupors with their prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. We also passed some villages and settlements, some with houses made of rough stone. After some time, we crossed the river and then, as we climbed, the thick vegetation gave way to a far more desolate landscape. Finally, after another hour or so of hiking, we arrived at Dingboche with its beautiful stupor above it and yaks grazing on its outskirts.

We start our hike in the rain

The morning dawned rainy and misty so we donned our rain jackets. However, it wasn't raining hard, so wasn't unpleasant though we don't look too thrilled in the photo below!

We hike through forrest down to the river and cross a suspension bridge

The vegetation and landscape becomes more desolate
