Day 6 of Everest hike: Acclimatisation hike at Dingboche

We woke up to the crisp mountain air and breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks which had been covered up till now. The views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other towering peaks were simply awe-inspiring.

After a hearty breakfast, we set out on our acclimatization hike. The trail led us through a rocky and rugged landscape, with prayer flags fluttering in the wind as a constant reminder of the spiritual significance of these mountains.

As we ascended higher, we noticed the thinning air, and our breathing became more laborious. But our guide reminded us to take it slow. We stopped frequently to catch our breath and admire the scenery of Dingboche far below. The higher we went, the more misty it became until it felt like we were amongst the clouds.  We climbed about 600 metres of altitude.

A beautiful dog accompanied us the whole way, not showing any signs ever of getting tired. Oh for some of his energy.

After spending some time relaxing at the highest point of our hike, we began our descent back to Dingboche. The downhill trek was a welcome relief after the uphill climb, and we returned to our teahouse tired but content.
