A hard day's work in the digital space

OK, so it's not all hard work. Especially when the camera comes out!

Agency Fusion to Blackglass

Agency Fusion, the company I joined, has now officially been renamed 'Blackglass' after merging with another company (Ixion). We have moved to great new, light and airy offices in the middle of the city. A ten minute train journey from where we live. I have 5 new work mates, all of whom I like a lot. Alistair, Kate Best, Kate Botham, Mark and Danielle.

Large dark glasses are in! Kate (top) and Allison (bottom)

Me with Boden, our 19 year old project manager. He's a fantastic guy - keeps us all young.

Make a quilt online (2007)

I don't often talk about my web projects on this blog but I have just launched one that I am very proud of.

It's name is Fabric Matcher and it allows you to choose fabrics in innovative ways. For example, if you have a photo of your bedroom, you can upload it and it will suggest fabrics that match your colour scheme.

Then you add your fabrics to your pattern of choice to create your virtual quilt. If you like what you have created, you can then purchase all the ingredients online and make the kit at home.

Over 3 months of hard work - hopefully it will be a big success with the quilting market.

Agency Fusion Christmas Party

So here are some pics of my new work mates from Agency Fusion (with spouses in tow.) We had a great Christmas Party at Warren's house and were treated to the ultimate Aussie barbie with succulent beef and prawns dressed in bacon jackets. Absolutely awesome food - and no shortage of alcohol! Lots of fun and good laughs. Ended up with a late swim and a hilarious game of charades. Its great to be working with such fun people.

So here are the 4 intrepid "Agency Fusioners". Warren (MD) and Louisa (left) are the co-founders. And that's Elsa to the right.

Here we all are tucking into the great food. For my memories sake: Louisa & Steve, Elsa & Val, Warren & Sonya, Me and Ally!

Here's Warren proudly manning that ubiquitous Aussie icon - the Barbie" I'll always have a special spot for the South African braai with its hissing wood and sizzling flames - but this certainly isn't bad either. And there is no smoke in your face.

Warren's two litte youngsters are awfully cute, Made me miss little Sammy and Matthew very much. We had a couple of good play sessions.

Warren has a great sense of humour. He went to Germany this year to watch the world cup with some mates. This is the shirt that they designed and wore. So successfuly was it received that they were featured on a couple of TV shows.

It's Mr Musoni!!

I was delighted to see Hubert, one of my favourite Volvo colleagues, the other day - here in Sydney. It was a great treat. We met up for a beer and meal. He's here on vacation and popped through Sydney on a road trip. His fun Australian mate who Hubert is travelling with is a committed Melbournite and wasn't too complimentary about Sydney so I did my best to put the story right!! Hope to see you here again Hubert - and stay longer in Sydney next time!

Watching lots of movies does have its uses after all !

Went pub quizzing last night (great fun) and I helped the team romp to a 10 out of 10 score on the movie section. I totally sucked at everything else though. That's probably because I spent too much time watching movies to read the news!!

Farewell DVD from Volvo

As part of my farewell, Volvo put together a hilarious video show for me - super imposing my face on various scenes from Crocodile Dundee and other "Down Under" classics. They went to a lot of effort and it was absolutely hilarious. Even better than Martin's farewell presentation. Definitely something I will treasure.
