Beautiful Jason

I did lots of bonding with dear Jason.  Many mindful walks around the block. Lots of cuddles.  And of course, we slept together every night!

Muizenberg to Kalk Bay

Jo and I went for a refreshing, sea breezey evening walk from Muizenberg to Kalk Bay.  In Kalk Bay, we had a scrumptious dinner of grilled calamari and braaied Kingklip.  Then an uber back to Muizenberg.  A lovely evening.

Chapman's Peak picnic

With the rest of the family in Plett, Jo and I went to the vineyard in Noordhoek where there was a food market.  However, there were so many people there, we headed straight off to the relatively quiet retreat of Chapman's Peak.  On the way, we got some nice salads and pistachio biscuits (yum) from the local delhi.  We enjoyed our picnic with beautiful views of a sunset.  Very peaceful.

Journey to Wilderness

Jo and I went on a road trip to Sedgefield to pick up Matt who was there with some friends.  We stopped off at Wildnerness for the night on the way there and Swellendam on the way back.  What a wonderful time we had.

Garden Route Game Lodge

We saw a sign advertising The Garden Route Game Lodge and spontaneously decided to go there.  It was obviously ordained as we literally arrived 5 minutes before the game drive started at 11 am.

Highlights
  • Having the vehicle to ourselves.
  • Robyn, the guide, who was very friendly and very knowledgeable.
  • 'Africa from behind."
  • The lions, especially when the female lifted her head and preened for photos.
  • The baby ostriches
