I have always loved technology and gadgets. In the 1990's, long before iPhones, I organised my life with a Psion that I absolutely adored. First with a Psion 3 and then a Psion Revo. The Psion was an invaluable aid at Old Mutual and later, I used it to help organise my trip when I did tour-leading in the Middle East in 2001.
Later, in 2005, when working at Volvo I used a Compaq iPac.
My Psion was a milestone that led to so many aspects of my future life:
- I write Jo's wedding on it, and later my own (on a Psion Revo).
- I used in a great deal during my early Old Mutual years and it helped me keep organised and calm.
- I wrote my first version of a vision statement for my life. This would later become part of my Compass (My personal development system).
- I created a quote database on it with lots of wonderful quotes. This would lead to a life long love of quotes and my Wisdom Trove web site.
- I kept humorous one liners on it that would later become a large spreadsheet of humour.
- I kept travel notes on it during my 1996 and 1997 overseas travels that were later incorporated into Life Trove.
- In Udaipur, I started to brainstorm and list all the best memories of my life. This would later become the starting point of fleshing out Life Trove to include my entire life from birth.
- A Psion 3a became a very useful tool during my Tour leading in the Middle East for writing talks, keeping notes and expenses.
- In South America in 2006, I kept a spreadsheet of costs. This greatly aided my peace of mind. Keeping track of expenses is now an ongoing practice.
