Peter has just retired from Volvo after 50 years of employment. Amazing and pretty special.

Yes, very different situation nowadays with all the job hopping. Still, it does make us more flexible. I can't imagine still doing that daily walk (which i did for 6 years) from the Old Mutual parking garage to the 9th floor - and continuing to do it till age 65!!!
50 years at one firm is quite something. I don't think anyone in your age group will ever achieve such a thing. Everything has changed so much to when Gramps joined the bank. You stayed for security regardless of whether you liked the job.
