In 2002, while living in London, Ally and I went to the Body Worlds exhibition, and it remains one of the most unforgettable exhibitions I've ever seen. Created by anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens, it features real human bodies preserved through a process called plastination, allowing every muscle, organ and blood vessel to be displayed in extraordinary detail. It was macabre at times, seeing actual human bodies posed in lifelike positions, but it was also utterly fascinating. The exhibition gave me a profound appreciation for the complexity, beauty and engineering of the human body, revealing what normally remains hidden beneath the skin. It was one of those rare experiences that was both unsettling and deeply educational.
